Gürbüz GÜLÜMSER (Ege University Department of Leather Engineering) Collagen hydrolysates obtained from chromed leather solid wastes were modified with some fatty acids. These were examined in means of usability in fatliquoring process. The changes in leather characteristics, treated with condensates, were determined. According to findings, with lubricated collagen hydrolysates modified with myristic acid from saturated fatty acids and oleic acid from unsaturated acids leathers were showed better physical characteristics. Also, better results for lubrication of leathers were given by the condensates with the ratios of 1.0 hydrolysate:1.5 myristic acid and 1.0 hydrolysate:1.5 oleic acid.
